The Lancet magazine published a global ranking of medical quality and accessibility. Research shows that in the 25 years from 1990 to 2015, China ranked from 110 to 60, and the progress of medical quality ranked third in the world.

Guo Yanhong, deputy director of the Medical Administration and Hospital Administration of the National Health and Family Planning Commission, introduced at a recent media meeting on medical quality promotion of the National Health and Family Planning Commission that the medical quality of our country has been continuously improved, while the degree of homogeneity has also been improved. At present, the in-patient mortality rate in our country is gradually decreasing and stabilizing at a relatively low level. At the same time, the efficiency of medical services and the accessibility of medical services are constantly improving, and the capacity of medical services is obviously enhanced.

Anesthesiology is a prerequisite and cornerstone for the development of modern surgery. Professor Huang Yuguang, Director of Anesthesiology Department of Peking Union Medical College Hospital and Director of Quality Control Center of National Anesthesia Speciality, believes that high-quality anesthesia creates conditions for surgery. Over the past 25 years, the development of two major surgical techniques in China: transplantation and minimally invasive surgery (including interventional surgery, endoscopy and Da Vinci robotic surgery) has been based on modern anesthesia.

Professor Huang Yuguang said that modern anesthesia technology improves accuracy, controllability, minimally invasive and individualized intraoperative management, which not only improves patients'comfort but also ensures safety. For example, the use of fiberoptic bronchoscope to guide the occlusion of a lung lobe through the occluder, rather than the left/right lung, to enhance the lung exchange area in thoracic surgery. The combination of nerve locator and ultrasound is used to locate a specific nerve for nerve paralysis, which is similar to the combination of backing radar and backing image to precisely Park and avoid injury.
